    Frequently asked questions

Which Colorado airport is closest to the ski resorts?

It depends on the resort: Eagle County (EGE) is closest to Vail and Beaver Creek, Aspen/Pitkin County (ASE) to Aspen and Snowmass, Yampa Valley (HDN) to Steamboat, Montrose (MTJ) and Telluride (TEX) to Telluride, and Gunnison (GUC) to Crested Butte. Denver (DEN) has the most flights and is about 2 hours from Summit County and Vail.

Is a shuttle or a rental car better from the airport?

For one or two people going to one town, a shared shuttle usually costs least. Families with ski gear tend to prefer a private transfer. If you'll visit several places, rent a car, and from September to May make it AWD/4WD.

    Are the drive times exact?

No. They're approximate and assume no traffic or winter weather. I-70 ski traffic and storms can add a lot of time.
